WELCOME TO PS3 LEAGUES & FORUM IRELAND

We offer the Irish gaming community a place to meet up with fellow PS3 gamers from all over Ireland and chat on our dedicated PS3 Forum Boards. We encourage the more mature gamers to sign up to our PS3 Forum as we want sensible discussion without all the Fanboy rubbish!!

If you are new to the Playstation 3 or online gaming we have a few features on the forum that we hope will help you to get to know some more like minded gamers and have a bit of fun!! We have just setup a Teamspeak server that allows Forum members to chat with one another through your PC's while playing your PS3 online. So why not join our community and make the most of your shiny black box.

We also hope to get a few Leagues & Tournaments going so Forum members can test their gaming skills against other members and hopefully gain all the bragging rights!!

News:

We recently added a free to play Arcade Game section to the forum to help pass the time when you are at "work". The site has been set up to enhance your gaming experience on Sony's Playstation Network - PSN.

Over on PS3 Leagues UK we will soon be selling PS3 Games so when its up and running shortly please have a look.

WARHAWK BETA - A FEW TIPS

We have been expectantly awaiting the arrival of the much anticipated Warhawk online multiplayer game which is due for release sometime October / November so you can imagine our delight when we were accepted on the beta trial.

With just a day's worth of playing we are happy to report that Warhawk lives up to the hype from what we have seen so far. The graphics are very crisp looking and the game looks good in general. So onto the tips....

The following are just a few basic tips to get you started with the game when you get your hands on it. We will add more detailed hints and tips once we get more familiar with the game but for now:

1. How to Lock onto a Target:
This was driving me mad for a few hours, i'd be happily flying along and suddenly get the sound of impending death when some other sod locks onto me with their missiles, which mostly ends up with me hurtling towards the ground and respawn number 50!!

This was made all the worse as i didn't know how to lock a target and so my missiles rarely hit. To fire a missile you press the L1 button, but to lock a target first you have to have them in you target area for a bit while holding down the L1 button until you get the lock on signal. As you can pick up different weapons as you fly about the place the effects will vary, and it seems the closer you are to your target the better chance you have of taking them out.

This aiming principle also applies to the Ground to Air Missile Turrets dotted around each map.

2. Advanced Flight Maneuvering:
When someone locks onto you while flying you need to take evasive action asap. To have a short boost of speed quickly tap R2 twice and then us the right analogue stick to do barely rolls or spin around.... or both at the same time. This doesn't guarantee you wont get hit but it definitely limits the chance of a hit.

3. Use your Headset
If you want to be in with a chance of winning you'll need to be in contact with your fellow teammates. A bit of teamwork goes a long way to capturing that all important flag or control point.

4. Killing a target:
Your basic aircraft load out is your machine gun and 5 rockets. The longer you keep your target locked the more rockets will logon and you will need 5 of these at least to take a target out in one go. You can pickup new weapons dotted around the map, keep your eye out for the yellow pickups, these will give you 3 homing missiles. You can only fire one at a time and this wont take out someone with full health so as soon as you have fired start trying to hit them with your machine gun as well. A few additional shots from with it will do the job.
